Zhou Hanmin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, yesterday met with Maqbool Bin Ali Bin Sultan, the Minister of Economic and Industry in the Persian Gulf state of Oman.
Zhou extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced them general information about World Expo 2010 Shanghai.
Zhou said 13 Arabic countries have confirmed their participation in the event. He said the organizers hoped that Oman could sign up soon.
The organizers would also provide joint pavilions free of charge to the developing countries. Or participants could also rent pavilions built by the organizers instead of building them themselves.
Maqbool Bin Ali Bin Sultan thanked Zhou for his hospitality.
After the meeting, the delegation members had a bird's eye view atop the Expo Mansion and visited the master plan exhibition hall downstairs.
