Taiwan-based Aurora Group will display Chinese jade culture in its corporate pavilion in World Expo Shanghai 2010, Aurora's Chairman Chen Yongtai said today as the company signed the participation contract with the Expo organizers.
The 3,000-square-meter Aurora Pavilion will be in globe shape, standing at the entrance of Puxi side of the Expo site.
Aurora Group, the leading brand of office automation equipments in Taiwan, is dedicated in collecting cultural relics, especially precious jades.
Aurora has set up a private cultural museum featuring jade in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area.
Jade is a unique natural material in China. During the history of Chinese jade culture which last more than 6,000 years, Chinese people formed special cultural systems, said Chen.
The exhibition will showcase the relationship how ancient culture could combine with modern life, said Chen. Aurora’s participation will also push the development of the creative industries across the Strait.
The company will also set up a virtual pavilion in the Shanghai Expo Online project which is one of the highlights of the event.
The group confirmed to participate in Shanghai Expo in January. It is the second company to sign the participation contract.
