Macau Week begins in Expo Exhibition Center

Macau launched a week-long promotion campaign at the Expo Exhibition Center in downtown Shanghai to introduce its Expo plan yesterday.
The exhibit will present aspects involving the Tak Seng On Pawnshop, which is Macau's Urban Best Practice Area showcase, and the special administrative region's preparations for Expo 2010.
Highlight of the exhibition is a model of the special administrative region's "rabbit lantern" pavilion.

Visiters watch the model of the Macau Pavilion in the shape of a rabbit lantern.
The pavilion will be wrapped with a double-layer glass membrane and feature fluorescent screens on its outer walls. Balloons will serve as the head and tail of the "rabbit" and these can be moved up and down to attract visitors.
In Chinese mythology, the jade rabbit is a guide to Nantianmen, the door leading to a fairyland.
The exhibition will be through next Monday in the center at No.300 Huaihai Road M. Visitors can guess lantern riddles in the center and get a Haibao badge as award.

Hong Hao, director-general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, Zhu Yonglei, deputy director of the bureau, Zhang Yixing, deputy director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affair Office of Shanghai Municipal government, Ieong Pou Yee, Macau's Expo preparation authority and Chen Zhiping, director of Government Information Bureau of Macau were present.
