Icy province warms to final pavilion designs

Experts have selected the three finalists for the design for Heilongjiang Province's Expo 2010 exhibition which will show how city dwellers can live well in ice and snow and in harmony with nature.
The three finalists were selected last week from 10 designs all based on the theme "Ice and Snow Make Us Extraordinary."
Icy Heilongjiang is famous for its breath-taking winter scenery, sports and the annual Harbin Ice Sculpture Festival that draws tourists from all over the world. The average annual temperature ranges from minus 5 degrees Celsius to plus 5 degrees.
The province will be showcased in a 30,000-square-meter joint pavilion with 29 other provinces and municipalities from the Chinese mainland.
