Wandering in the "Visual" World of Realities and Mirages
Date:28/04/2009
Key Words: Multimedia interaction
Hi-tech enjoyment
Watching two movies at the cinema will cost nearly RMB 160. An Expo site tour will cost the same. The difference is that the Expo will offer you abundant fun and enjoyment much more than that of the two movies.

The Expo multimedia era has been enthusiastic for the multimedia living theatres, grand visual shows, and magical interactive movies.
The Expo theme will be reflected by means of multimedia technologies, which will please the visitors while enlightening them.
A Visual Journey
The video world is full of mysteries and charms. When people first saw the vivid characters on the screen, what they felt was beyond words. The image filled the gap between experience and imagination.

Many of the previous world expositions are good examples in utilizing advanced multimedia technologies to help participants in theme presentation. Comparing with the traditional exhibition modes, the hi-tech digital cinema will create a much stronger visual impact, as required by a memorable event, to embody the modern society and globalization trend.
Many of the pavilions at Expo 2010 will organize their exhibitions based on multimedia technologies, such as large screens, HD projector equipment, LED displays, stereophonic sound systems, interactive devices, and fog screen images. All of these will offer visitors a visual feast. What you need to do is just watching, and watching.
An Interactive Experience
In addition to the visual experience offered by HD films, projection and audio systems, sufficient visual effects will be created by utilizing artificial fog, rain, wind, frost, snow, photoelectricity, air bubbles, flavors, scenes and live performances as required by the exhibitions, for a stronger on-spot visual impact.
All of these will change the way people visit an exposition, and allow them to shift the angle of view freely, take part in interactive programs and have fun.
In 2010, various multimedia technologies will have a wonderful show at the Expo. Many foreign national pavilions have unveiled their multimedia exhibition plans, full of wonders. For example, the spines extended from the UK Pavilion, which can swing in the breeze, are tipped with tiny colored light sources that can display a variety of images together. Within the Israel Pavilion, many “lighting balls” will drop from the top to offer a 360-degree multimedia show that will last 10 minutes. These advanced display technologies will be used along with the physical exhibits of distinctive national features and social customs to highlight human wisdom.
