The construction of a pavilion to showcase the latest technology and innovation of China’s railway system is moving forward.

China Railway Pavilion covers an area of 3,690 square meters in D area, Puxi part of the Expo site. With a gross construction area of 5,695 square meters, the pavilion is a 20-meter-tall building with bronze and glass façade. The building looks simple and natural with elegant details, reflecting the designer’s concept of “Harmonious Railway for a New Era of Better Life.”

The display area is divided into three parts - history, present and future, with the theme “Where There is a City, There are Railways.” The pavilion will show how railways have influenced human civilization and will spotlight China's achievements and innovations, exploring the role of railways in urban development and modernization.

Economic and Planning Research Institute of the Ministry of Railway, China Academy of Railway Science and Shanghai Railway Bureau are working on the project.
