A statue of Expo 2010 mascot Haibao made its debut yesterday in Daqing, the site of China's largest oilfield in Heilongjiang Province.
Many Daqing residents gathered in front of the Daqing Opera House where the Haibao statue was placed and signed their names on a banner to express their support for the Expo.
Daqing government officials said they would make use of the Expo to display the city's eco-protection practices and scientific development to the world.
