Trip of Expo:Shopping during Breaks
Date:19/08/2009
For most of us, visiting Expo is a special trip.
Food, accommodation, transportation, shopping and entertainment,
all these tourist elements are that much more special when labeled Expo.
In 2010, let’s start——
Shanghai, a metropolis with nearly 20 million people, has always been the most fashionable and international city popularized by the travel media. One reason for that is an exciting shopping environment. The Expo and Shanghai bring out the best in each other, and therefore the carefully decorated Expo 2010 will become another “paradise” for shoppers. Although it’s not a trade fair, visitors can still enjoy shopping during breaks: shopping areas are virtually everywhere in the site.

A Global “Shopping Tour”
Keywords: handicrafts, local flavor and custom, special souvenir
When travelling around the world, tourists will bring home not only images in their cameras but also the local flavor and customs. Similarly, as a trip around the world without stepping outside of Shanghai, Expo 2010 will set up shopping areas besides exhibition areas to sell souvenirs from all parts of the world. You cannot help but slow down your pace to have a look. These souvenirs will not be expensive, and are selected carefully to represent regional characteristics.
For those who do not have the chance to go to Africa, visiting Joint-Africa Pavilion will be a good opportunity to get to know the unique living condition and cultural heritage of Africa. Real object exhibition plus artwork and local specialty offerings, the pavilion resembles an all-inclusive bazaar, which gathers souvenirs from different countries, such as tableware, masks, woodcarvings, stone-carvings, rag dolls, calico, hand weavers and traditional clothes, manifesting exotic African flavor.
Europe has been labeled “The Holy Land of Shopping” to embody people’s aspirations. In Expo 2010, all European pavilions will demonstrate the essence of “shopping”. With all kinds of products, from top-class famous brands to fair-priced goods available, you will most certainly be dazzled and perhaps “shop till you drop”.
Asia, Oceania and America will also cherish the opportunity to present good products to visitors from the world. They have delivered here products that can best represent their respective features.
The “shopping” part of the Expo is designed to show the charm of different countries as well as to exhibit ideas.
