A Haibao statue has been placed at the foot of Geladandong, a snow-covered mountain in China's Qinghai Province.
Geladandong is the main peak of the Tanggula mountain range on the Tibetan Plateau as well as the origin of the Yangtze River.
The statue was brought to the area by a delegation headed by Wang Lingjun, vice governor of Qinghai, during their recent tour to the Yangtze's origin in preparation for the Expo exhibition in the province.
The exhibition has the theme: "China's Water Tower, Three Rivers' Origin."
The sources of China's two longest rivers, the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, are in Qinghai. The Lancang River, which is known as the Mekong River in Southeast Asia, also begins in the province.
Qinghai's exhibition will explore the role of the region in forming a complete ecological system and demonstrate how lifestyles flourish along the three rivers.
