More than 10,000 construction workers kept toiling at the World Expo 2010 site during the longest-ever National Day holiday to ensure work stays on track.

They are working on interior design, installations and testing of the Expo Center, the China Pavilion, the Performance Center and Expo Boulevard.

Chen Baiyao, from Zhejiang Province, said he had only been home once – at Spring Festival – since he started working at the site. "I feel proud to have helped build the Expo pavilions," he said.
