The Shanghai 2010 World Expo organizer signed cooperation deals yesterday with nine Yangtze Delta cities - Changzhou, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang and Taizhou in Jiangsu Province, and Nantong, Huzhou, Jiaxing, Zhoushan and Taizhou in Zhejiang Province - for Friendship Day during Expo.
Yang Xiong, Shanghai Executive Vice Mayor and executive deputy director of the Executive Committee of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, and Zhong Yanqun, fulltime deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, attended the signing ceremony.
Friendship Day, which will be one of the main Expo activities in the Yangtze Delta, will promote the integration of the delta area, Zhong said.
Cooperation has been smooth in fields such as Expo-themed forums, the Urban Best Practices Area, Expo promotion weeks and Expo tickets, Zhong added.
Friendship Day activities for the featured Yangtze Delta cities will happen on the Expo site and in the cities.
