A conference for all the national participants of the Shanghai 2010 World Expo took place in the city yesterday, gathering representatives from 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
Exhibitions of national participants will be held in a joint pavilion surrounding the China Pavilion.
Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng said a successful, splendid and unforgettable Expo can not be achieved without the support and active participation from domestic participants. Shanghai would share the opportunities and economic growth brought about from the Expo with other provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, he added.
Han said the city would spare no efforts to provide platforms for national participants at the Expo.
Wan Jifei, executive director of the Shanghai 2010 World Expo Executive Committee, said China's State Council attached great importance to national participants' exhibitions in the event.

Wan, also chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), urged national participants to further polish their exhibition designs and turn their focus to operation and management as interior installation will start next month.
Wang Jinzhen, vice chairman of CCPIT, called on participants to beef up efforts in promotion, performance arrangement and Expo Shanghai Online exhibition.
Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, elaborated on the progress of Expo 2010 in such areas as construction, logistics, commercial activities, ticketing and volunteer recruitment.
