Australia to premier trailer of Expo documentary
Date:28/11/2009
The Australian Pavilion will premier a trailer of its documentary TV series “Sister,” which is one of the main displays in the first hall of the pavilion. The “Sister” series will tell stories of Chinese and Australian women to showcase the friendly ties between China provinces and Australia states. It will focus on 20 females in Australia and China who make their communities different by their efforts.
The documentaries will be displayed by a diamond-shaped screen in the Australian Pavilion. Each female Australian will match a Chinese “sister” who has the same profession, age or experience. Those outstanding women include young inventors, experienced journalists and leading scientists.
That the exhibition will show the extraordinary achievement in sciences, arts and politics by the brilliant female in Australia and China in their fields to find out the similarities between the two countries, said Lyndall Sachs, the chief representative of the Australian government.
The documentaries will highlight the link between their jobs and the theme of the Expo Shanghai: “Better city, Better life.”
The Australian Pavilion will celebrate their National Day at Expo site on June 8 next year. It will also hold a series of activities throughout the Expo period, including a “Queensland theme week”, a forum about “Future Livable and Sustainable Cities” and “the Month of Oceania.”
Queensland has became a sister city of Shanghai for 20 years. “Queensland Theme week” will be held in the Australian Pavilion from June 20th to 26th next year. The organizer of the event will focus on innovations, Green Building and the education of Queensland in many programs.
