Shanxi seeks creative couplets
Date:17/12/2009
China's northern Shanxi Province is searching for suitable couplets from the public to be posted on its Expo pavilion's doorways.
The content of the couplets should embody the theme of Expo 2010 "Better City, Better Life" and be in line with Shanxi's display, which will feature the province's splendid civilization and rich resources and energy sources such as coal.
The pavilion will duplicate the Shanxi Guildhall, a famous traditional building representing Shanxi's architectural and art wisdom.
The couplets will be written by famous calligraphists. Submissions will end on March 1, 2010.
The three first prize winners will get 3,000 (US$440) and six Expo tickets each.
