IX. Media Accommodation

In order to failitate reporting activities of the accredited media, the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination provides hotel reservation services for accredited media staff of Expo 2010.
(1) Types of hotels and service apartments
The hotels and service apartments provided by Shanghai Expo Bureau to accredited media staff are divided into five categories, i.e. economy hotels, three-star hotels, four-star hotels, five-star hotels and service apartments. The reservation prices offered are also highly competitive.
(2) Room reservation procedure
1. Application Submission
Please submit Accommodation Application Form through the E-News Center of Expo 2010 or submit the form directly to the Accommodation Booking Center of Expo 2010.
Applicants who apply and summit the accommodation application form before Jan. 31, 2010 is eligible to the negotiation rate that only hotels recommended by the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination will offer.
After Feb. 1, 2010, Accommodation Booking Center of Shanghai Expo Bureau will still provide room reservation services to accredited media organizations, but the prices will be aligned with market prices.
2. Reservation Confirmation
20 days after the Accommodation Booking Center receives a room reservation application, a room reservation clerk will contact the applicant and offer professional suggestions before finally sending Room Reservation Confirmation in writing to the applicant.
3. Applicants Confirmation
Within 10 days of receiving the Reservation Confirmation Letter sent by the Accommodation Booking Center, applicants shall reply in writing to show approval of the final accommodation arrangements.
4. Lodge Guarantee Deposit
In order to ensure room reservations are secured, applicants who intend to stay for less than 30 days shall pay in advance the amount equivalent to one day of accommodation fees for each suite as a guarantee deposit within 30 days of submitting the Accommodation Arrangement Confirmation Letters; those who intend to stay more than 30 days shall increase their deposit payment accordingly.
5. Application Alteration
Any changes to a confirmed application shall be deemed a new application. Applicants whose changes constitute a breach of contract shall pay a penalty according to the established rules.
