XI. Language Services

In order to overcome the language barriers of the Accredited media in their interviews and coverage on Expo 2010, the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination coordinates the official language service suppliers Beijing Yuanpei Century Translation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yuanpei”) and China Translation & Publishing Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “CTPC” to provide multi-language services to the agencies and their staff.
(I) Brief Introduction
Yuanpei and CTPC must, in accordance with the requirement of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, provide the accredited media and their staff with accompanying interpreters proficient in language skills and acquainted with the knowledge of Expo 2010. They must provide Chinese to foreign, foreign to Chinese and foreign-foreign language interpretation services.
(2) How to obtain the service
1. Application process
1. Accredited media staff may go to the Main Press Centre, Puxi Sub-press Centre or Media Service Centre to obtain Application for Media Language Service of Expo 2010 (see Attachment 1).
(2) Upon receiving remitted payment, the related staff will send the Return Receipt of Application for Media Language Service of Expo 2010 to the applicant media for confirmation and arrange the accompanying interpreters.
(3) The accompanying interpreters will, at the prescribed place and time, provide the required services.

2. Advance reservation
In order to provide quality accompanying interpretation, all services require advance reservation. Please refer to the following advance time requirements:
