Date:16/01/2010
China’s Hebei and Anhui provinces launched their exhibition plans yesterday at Expo site, as more than one third of China’s provinces have unveiled their blueprints for the World Expo Shanghai 2010.
Each of the 31 provinces and municipalities on the mainland has an exhibition area of 600 square meters in the China Pavilion, where visitors can learn about Chinese history and culture tradition, said Chen Xianjin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.
Hebei Pavilion would display achievements of its history, economy, social development and technology in a half-transparent fancy space, said Zhao Fenglou, director of the World Expo Office of Hebei Province.
Anhui Pavilion will be a magnificent hall of knowledge offering the past, the present and the future of the flourishing province, said Wen Haiying, deputy governor of Anhui Province.
Shaanxi aimed to build a structure in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) style which will lead visitors on a journey through time to explore the history and prosperity of Chang'an, the ancient capital of the Tang Dynasty, and today's Xi'an, Shaanxi's capital.
Since last December, Shanghai, Guizhou, Hainan, Hunan, Henan, Chongqing, Zhejiang, Ningxia and Tibet have started decorating their space within the China Pavilion.
