The Zhejiang delegation is headed by Zhao Hongzhu, the Zhejiang Party chief and head of the provincial legislative body. The guests have been visiting Shanghai since Thursday.
Yu thanked Zhejiang for its all-out support for Shanghai's Expo preparation and co-operation with Shanghai in securing a safe Expo.
Yu and Zhao first inspected the model of Expo site at the exhibition hall in the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination and listened to reports of Expo planning and construction development. The delegation also visited the China Pavilion and the Zhejiang Pavilion at the skirt building around the China Pavilion.
At the Zhejiang Pavilion construction site, Yu and Zhao conveyed greetings to the construction workers and thanked them. The delegation also visited the Expo Center, Theme Pavilion, Expo Performance Center, Expo Boulevard, pavilions built by participants and joint-pavilions.
During the visit, Yu said Shanghai is following Chinese President Hu Jintao's instructions on Expo 2010 and pushing forward the Expo preparation. A successful Expo Shanghai is possible only with the support from Chinese people and other provinces, Yu said. Shanghai will strive to build the Expo stage to help other provinces to showcase themselves to the world. The Expo would promote the integration and development of the Yangtze Delta region, Yu added.
Zhao said that Zhejiang will follow the central government's orders to proactively push its Expo participations and complete its tasks. The province will add highlights to Expo 2010 while showcasing Zhejiang's glamour, he said. It will spare no efforts in supporting a successful, splendid and unforgettable Expo 2010, Zhao said.
The delegation also visited Keboda Corporation and Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited at Zhangjiang High-Technology Park. The delegation also visited Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd's labs and ARJ21 assemble workshops as well as terminals and Metro stations at Shanghai’s Hongqiao transportation hub which is under construction.
