Types of the Tickets and Relevant Regulations

Q1:How many types of tickets does the Expo have?
A: Tickets of Expo 2010 include nine types which are broadly classified into individual and group tickets. Individual tickets are divided into Peak Day Admission and Standard Day Admission, the former include Peak Day Single Day Admission and Peak Day Special Admission, and the latter include Standard Day Single Day Admission, Standard Day Special Admission, 3 Day Admission, 7 Day Admission and Evening Admission. Group tickets are divided into Group Admission and Student Group Admission. No complimentary ticket is available for Expo 2010. Admission tickets are required for all visitors except children at or under 1.2m.
Q2:How is a Peak Day or Standard Day defined?
A: Expo 2010 will last for 184 days from May 1 to Oct. 31, 2010. According to a 2006 survey of domestic visitors by National Bureau of Statistics, considering the visitor flows of previous world expositions and based on the newly revised national holiday regulations, Peak Days include “Labor Day” Holiday (May 1-3, 2010), “National Day” Holiday (Oct. 1-7, 2010), and the last week before the closing date (Oct. 25-30, 2010), with 17 days in total. All the other 167 days are Standard Days.
Q3:What is the Peak Day ticket?
A: Peak Day tickets are designed to control visitor flow on predicted peak days of the Expo session by designating dates, limiting volume and increasing prices.
Q4. Is a Peak Day ticket invalid if not used on the printed day?
A: No. According to the Ticketing Regulation, if the Peak Day ticket is not used on the designated day, it can also be used on any Standard Day.
Q5. Does the ticket have a visiting date printed on it?
A: Only Peak Day tickets have designated dates printed.
Q6. What is the Ticketing Regulation for the Special Admission?
A: Based on practices of previous world expositions and Chinese characteristics, Special Admission tickets are available for the disabled, the senior citizens, students with valid IDs, children above 1.2m and Chinese military personnel on active duty. They have access to Special Admission tickets, and valid IDs are required for purchase and visit.
Q7. How to define the senior citizens, students, the disabled and Chinese military personnel on active duty?
A: The senior citizens refer to people born on or before December 31, 1950 with valid IDs.
Students refer to students with valid IDs.
The disabled refer to people with valid certificate of disability issued by relevant institutions.
Chinese military personnel on active duty refer to people having valid IDs issued by the army or armed police forces.
Q8. Who will be admitted freely to the Expo site?
A: Children at or under 1.2m will be admitted freely but should be accompanied by at least one adult.
Q9. Can visitors enter the site more than once a day with a 3 Day Admission or 7 Day Admission ticket?
A: No. Each ticket is valid for any three or seven days except Peak Days. One ticket per person, valid for one entry on the day of admission.
Q10. Can 3 Day Admission or 7 Day Admission tickets only be used by the same ticket holder?
A: No. As there is no need for registration in using the 3 Day Admission or 7 Day Admission ticket, the ticket holder is not necessarily to be the same person.
Q11. Can Evening Admission tickets be purchased in advance via sales outlets?
A: No. To control visitor flow, Evening Admission tickets are only sold on-site during the Expo session. Except Evening Admission tickets, the other six types of individual tickets are available via authorized outlets.
Q12. Is there “Family Admission” ticket for the Expo?
A: No. Expo 2010 does not set Family Admission ticket as a certain type of the tickets. But we will encourage family visits via other promotional means.
Q13. Does the Expo ticket need to be registered for using?
A: No. Expo 2010 is predicted to have about 70 million visitors. To simplify the purchase procedure and provide the public with convenient and effective services, the ticket holders are not required to be registered.
Q14. Can ticket holders visit all pavilions with the admission ticket?
A: Yes. According to the practices of previous world expo, people with valid Expo admission tickets can visit all pavilions on the Expo site except those with special regulation.
Q15. Can visitors enter the site more than once in a single day?
A: No. According to the Ticket Regulations of Expo 2010, one ticket per person, valid for one entry on the day of admission.
Q16. Does the ticket include food and beverage in the Park?
A: No. Food and beverage will be served in the Park but would be charged separately.
