Jiangsu's Taicang welcomes Expo 2010

Taichang, a city in Jiangsu Province, will go all out to welcome the forthcoming World Expo 2010 by providing a variety of services, the city’s Party Secretary Pu Ronggao said yesterday.
Participating in and serving the Expo 2010 is essential for Taicang and the city will also showcase its glamour through a series of culture events at the Expo, Pu said at a city meeting.
The city will set up an Expo tourist center to help the host city Shanghai receive more than 70 million visitors for the world event.
Taicang, less than one hour’s drive from Shanghai, has already sent seven officials to the host city to take part in some preparation work.
Taicang's scenic spots such as Jincang Lake and Zhenghe Park are enlisted as recommended tourist sites for Expo tours. Up to 16 hotels in this city have been added to the list of Expo 2010 hotel booking system.
