The Expo Madrid promotion week opened yesterday.

As part of Expo Madrid promotion week, which opened yesterday, organizers have set up a life-sized group photo of the star-studded Spanish club team that enables locals to have a simulated group photo taken with the stars.

Visitors can upload the photos to www.madrid2010.org so that the photos can be attached to the facade of the pavilion at the Expo.

This week's exhibition, which runs through Sunday at the Expo Shanghai Exhibition Center on 300 Huaihai Road M., also showcases the model of its Expo pavilions - the Bamboo House and the Air Tree. Admission is free.

"We want to whet the appetites of future visitors to the Madrid Pavilion before the Expo gets under way in May," said Ignacio Nino, general coordinator of the Madrid Pavilion at the Expo.

Madrid will hold an exhibition on the world-famous football club in August in the Bamboo House at the Expo, Nino said.

The club that won the most European Cups will exhibit a replica of one of the cups. The pavilion will also have a shop selling T-shirts and other items relating to the club.

Some popular players of the club might appear in the pavilion during the exhibition, he said.

Madrid is the only city in the Expo to have a pavilion made up of replicas of two existing green constructions, the Bamboo House and the Air Tree - a state-subsidized house and a new type of public space.

The Bamboo House will be finished by the end of March, while the Air Tree will be finished in mid-April. They'll remain in Shanghai after the Expo closes as a legacy from Madrid.
