Dutch Pavilion well on track
Date:10/03/2010
The Dutch Pavilion, known as Happy Street, has entered the phase of painting and interior decoration.
Happy Street, which leads visitors along the mini pavilions, is being painted in striking Chinese red. The pavilion comprises 26 small elevated houses.
The interior design is due to be completed by April 1.
At a special 'water station' at the highest point of the street, free water will be supplied to visitors from a house next door, which contains a water purification plant.
A striking sports car KG1, designed for maximum body comfort, will be displayed in one of the houses. High-tech textiles and fibers were used to make the car.
The pavilion is constructed in a figure eight – a lucky number in Chinese culture.
