Announcement on the Provision of ITVR Signals for the Opening Celebration and Site Opening Ceremony

The Opening Celebration and the Site Opening Ceremony of Expo 2010 Shanghai China will be inaugurated on April 30 and May 1, 2010 respectively. To facilitate broadcasting of the events, the International Broadcast Center (IBC) of Expo 2010 will provide International Television and Radio (ITVR) Signals to broadcasters.
Live ITVR Signals for the Opening Celebration will be provided from 20:00—22:00 on April 30, 2010 (Beijing Time), or 12:00—14:00 on April 30, 2010 (GMT), while live ITVR Signals for the Expo Site Opening Ceremony will be provided from 08:20—09:00 on May 1, 2010 (Beijing Time), or 08:20—09:00 on May 1, 2010 (GMT).
The ITVR Signals will be clean signal (Video:HD 1080i/50 (SMPTE292M) 16:9, Audio:AES/EBU (SMPTE299M). Asiasat 5 will be used to uplink the ITVR Signals (C-band, 18MHz, Horizontal Polarization, and MPEG-2 4:2:0 DVB-S QPSK).
For news purposes only, television & radio rights shall be granted by the Organizer to broadcasters for live coverage or regularly scheduled daily news programs. Without permission, the ITVR Signals are not allowed to be used for live web casting, video on demand, as well as video production and sales.
For accredited media, applications shall be lodged to the IBC Booking Office for use of ITVR Signals. For detailed information on application procedures, please visit the ‘Media’ Channel on the official website of Expo 2010, or refer to the ‘ITVR Signals and Support Services’ under the sub-item of ‘Specialized Service’ in ‘E-News Center’. Upon approval, IBC will provide the satellite parameters and the cipher code.
Meanwhile, ITVR Signals are also be available to broadcasting clients of major international news agencies via TV networks. For details please refer to related announcements of concerned new agencies.
