Tour groups add to Expo numbers

About 239,300 visitors entered the Expo site by 7:30pm yesterday on the 16th day of the 2010 World Expo, among whom 91,000 were on group tours, accounting for about 38 percent of yesterday's visitor flow.
Smooth operation was reported, according to the organizers.
The most crowded gates were still Shangnan Road, Gaoke Road W., Houtan, and Changqing Road. More than 30,000 visitors passed each gate yesterday, with Houtan receiving as many as 55,000 visitors.
By 7pm, 35,221 tickets had been sold on site on the 16th day. A total of 10,426 were night tickets, costing 90 yuan (US$13) for entrance after 5pm.
Ten performances were canceled due to rain. By 5pm, 61 performances had been staged, attracting nearly 80,000 visitors. Altogether 8,110 volunteers served on the site.
