Mayor pledges efforts to cut long queues

Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng said yesterday the Expo organizers would take measures to shorten queuing time of popular pavilions when meeting Vicente Loscertales, secretary general of BIE, in Shanghai.
The visitor flow is expected to rise in July and August amid sizzling temperatures, therefore, the operation and management of the site will face new challenges, Han noted.
He pledged efforts to make sure a comfortable visit. Attention will also be paid to food and operation safety, Han said.
Loscertales said the organizers are continuously improving their service based on the opinions of participants and are doing a good job. He believed the Expo would be a complete success with the concerted efforts from the organizers and participants.
Shanghai Executive Vice Mayor Yang Xiong, Zhou Hanmin, deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, and Hua Junduo, China's commissioner general for World Expo 2010, were present during the meeting.
