Sangre Flamenca
Date:30/08/2010
Time:8.30
Venue: Expo center
The show is a series of flamencoforms, from the most traditional to the most avant-garde.Six male and five female dancers perform bulerías,tangos, zapateado, jaleos, and martinetes, accompanied
by two singers, two guitarists, a cellists, a violinist and a percussionist.
The music, created specifically for the show, revives old forms and mixes them with harmonies provided by cello, and violin to create a modern, fresh, and dynamic sound. Stage design and lighting sets off the music and dancing and the result is an original, colourful and surprising spectacle.
“Sangre Flamenca” was first performed in Madrid in February 2008 at the Teatro Albéniz de Madrid and has since been staged in 15 countries.
The performance at the Shanghai Expo kicks off a two-week Asian tour with performances in Hong Kong, Seoul, and Bangkok.
