Vietnam celebrates its National Pavilion Day today, emphasizing its ancient culture and modern development.
The 1,000-square-meter pavilion is themed "1,000-year History of Hanoi." The capital Hanoi celebrates its 1,000th anniversary this year.
The pavilion is shaped like a warehouse and made entirely of bamboo, which reduces the heat. The bamboo will be recycled after the Expo.
Focusing on the ancient city, the pavilion showcases the lives of Vietnamese citizens, the country's history, culture and urban development in recent years. Exhibits include Vietnam's famous coffee, handicrafts and wood sculpture.
