Date:05/09/2010

Thailand Pavilion celebrated National Pavilion Day today with dance and a folk craft show.
Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said that he was glad that 4 million tourists have visited Thailand Pavilion and he wish people would love Thailand more through this Pavilion Day.
He also said that the success of Expo 2010 has encouraged Thailand, which is bidding for the right of hosting Expo 2020.
Li Zhaochao, Vice Chairman of National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's political advisory body, said that Thailand is a country with harmony of different ethic groups, religions and cultures and the exhibition at the pavilion demonstrates Thai people’s understanding of urban civilization.
Thai artists performed at the ceremony. Thai craftsmen also showed their skills.
The Thailand Pavilion in Zone B is designed like a traditional Thai building with a gilded guardian robot warrior. Consisting of three exhibition halls, the theme of the pavilion is “Thai: The Sustainable Lifestyle.” It covers history, culture, economy, urban development, tourism and environmental protection. The last hall, “Harmonious Thai People,” shows scenes of people of different ethnic groups and classes living in harmony. The government hopes the pavilion will improve the country’s image after the global financial crisis and attract more tourists and foreign investors.
