Shanghai Party Secretary Yu Zhengsheng expressed appreciation for Ukraine's support over China's hosting of the 2010 World Expo when meeting Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in Shanghai yesterday.

Yu said the two countries have huge potentials for cooperation as Ukraine boasts rich resources and a large number of technology professionals. He said the president's visit would push bilateral cooperation and exchange to a new height.

Yanukovych said China's achievement in economy, social development, science and technology were impressive, and the two countries should further strengthen cooperation in such fields as energy, science and technology, education and culture. He also welcomed Chinese enterprises to invest in Ukraine's development.
