Expo 2010 Shanghai China

Theme: Rise of a Modern Economy – Ke Nako!
National Pavilion Day: August 9
Location: Within Zone C of the Expo Site
The pavilion adopts a simple design to create a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The arch door looks like a huge canopy, while the interior is decorated with textures in various colors, which signifies the diversity of South African culture and its confidence for creating a better life for people.
Each iconic image of South Africa is framed and emphasized with halos. Zebra patterns on chair pads remind visitors of the natural scenery in South Africa.
Full color display screens are installed at the exterior core zones to emphasize original South African cultures with images and sounds.
Inside the pavilion is a patio with round pads made of ostrich leather on top. Around the body of the patio are timbers for decoration, which resemble the traditional village and fences of South Africa and symbolize the core of its culture: humanity.
