Expo 2010 Shanghai China

Expo Shanghai cultural events refer to various entertainment shows held inside and outside the Expo Site before and during the Expo. Together with exhibitions and forums they form the three core parts of the World Expo. The purpose of these cultural events is to promote the Expo theme, enliven the atmosphere and help the crowd control.
The Expo Site has 33 public venues for holding cultural events. They include the Expo Center theater, Expo Center lobby, Expo Culture Center main theater, Expo Culture Center auditorium, Baosteel Stage, Entertainment Hall, Asia Square, Africa Square, Europe Square, America Square, Oceania Square, Celebration Square, Citizen Square, Food & Recreation Plaza, Sun Valley, Houtan Square theme area, Houtan Square “We Are the World” show area, Houtan Square “World Youth Innovation Tour” corner, Greenland Square, Entertainment Square, Dock Theatre, Abilia-Edutainment Park, Urban Square, and seven smaller yards as well as roads for parade (Bocheng Road in Pudong and Mengzi Road and Jumeng Road in Puxi).
-- Altogether 22,925 cultural events were held in the 33 Expo venues during 184-day world fair.
-- The 246 Expo participants brought 1,172 events by more than 1,200 performing groups who came from 176 countries, 13 international organizations, 36 cities and four enterprises. The number of events and people involved broke the Expo record.
Various events attracted more than 34 million spectators. Nearly half of the total 73 million Expo visitors watched at least one performance.
The events to be organized by participants will include two types: national pavilion days and special days, and special weeks and daily events organized by Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.
