Shanghai Hua Hong Group will support the development of the microchips inside the Shanghai World Expo 2010 tickets after it signed a deal with senior sponsors for the event today.

As one of the most competitive IT companies in China, Hua Hong will provide reliable ticket chips and a stable ticket-check system for the expected 70 million visitors to the Expo, said Tong Bao'an, chairman of Hua Hong at the signing ceremony.

Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, and Fang Peiqi, president of Hua Hong Group, singed the sponsorship agreement today.

Shanghai Vice Mayor Yang Xiong and Zhong Yanqun, fulltime deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, also attended the signing ceremony.

Shanghai Hua Hong, the provider of the chips in identification and social security cards, is also the contractor for Shanghai's transport card and ticket-check system in Metro stations.
