Haibao statue on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street  

The first batch of 10 statues of Shanghai Expo's mascot Haibao appeared in downtown areas, receiving a warm welcome from residents.

The statues, 1.5 meters wide and 3.5 meters high, are made of glass and steel. The Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination made the statues.

The first Haibao statue was established on February 4 at Yuyuan Garden, one of the most popular tourist spots in Shanghai. It receives more than 33 million visitors annually.

More Haibao statues are expected to pop up across the city.
